ABBA - Agnetha Fältskog

 

The Seventies without the Swedish Super Pop Group ABBA? Nearly impossible and unthinkable. Both ABBA ladies wore denim vests while the 1970s, so here is part 1 of the ABBA special with the blonde ABBA singer Agnetha Fältskog. Pictures were collected all over the WWW

I think, these pictures with Agnetha wearing a denim vest are from the first half of the 1970s, the Music Express magazine cover using one of the photos is from November 1974

Red Sweater, darker blue jeans, lighter blue jeans vest . I like the way, Anni-Frid hooked in in Agnethas vest pocket on some of the pictures.

Next outfit for studio session: light blue blouse agai with darker blue jeans and lighter blue jeans vest.

The next outfit appeared only one time while my search. Darker blue jeans and lighter blue jeans vest, but a white sweater below the vest.

Last picture maybe taken later than the other ones. I saw the outfit with darker blue jeans, flowered blouse below the jeansväst only one time too. 

Before closing this post it should be reported, that B and B, the men from ABBA also wore denim vests, so I close with some impressions from Benny and Björn.

It's always interesting to discover an early piece of history of the denim vest fashion. Yesterday I found the dirty lowbudget American roadmovie SATAN'S SADISTS from 1969. It was no surprise to find an very early denim vest girl as part of a bad bad motorcycle gang. Sorry about the Iron Crosses and Swastikas, but it seems to need this attributes to make the audience clear, how bad this guys really are.

The female part of this gang was played by American actress Regina Carrol, who became one of the first denim vest girls as consequence of her role.

I found this picture of German actress Monika Lundi with a denim vest. And I remembered to have seen her wearing the same vest while a performance on German TV to promote a song together with her husband and German actor Horst Janson (about 1974-1975)
