French actress Maria Schneider wore a vest in the 1977 filmed and 1981 published French movie Merry Go Round. On black and white photos it looks like a denim vest, but in reality it was a dark green velour like vest with a satin back. 

Susan Sontag

 

American writer and director Susan Sontag wears a vest over the striped blouse on this promotion picture in 1979. I don't think it was a denim vest, but a velour leather vest.

Sometimes it is not, what it seems to be. This is an easier case, but if you only see thumbnails, you are in danger to explore a beautiful woman with denim vest here. But it isn't. 

It was Lebanese model Georgina Rizk, who became Miss Lebanon in 1971 and later in the year also Miss Universe. And she wore something, that looked like a blue jean vest, if you only catch a short time view. And I failed a couple of times with her pictures. 

Flying Doctors

 

Sometimes it is not, what it seems to be. I was fooled a couple of times by Emma Patterson from Australian TV-series FLYING DOCTORS. First it is not 1970s, but 1990s. And Emma doesn't wear a denim vest but a working overall or working suit for mechanics.

Febbre da Cavallo

 

Sometimes it is not what it seems. Beautiful French-Italian actress Catherine Spaak wore a sleeveless blue piece in the 1976 Italian movie Febbre da Cavallo, what could have been a denim vest after only a short time view. But this time it wasn't one. Too bad, Catherine would have been a fantastic 70s denim vest girl.
