That 70's Show

 

THAT 70'S SHOW is an comedy series from the United States of America and set between the years 1976 and 1979. So it could have been a great place for actresses to wear masses of blue jean vests. 

But the denim vest factor of this show is kind of problematic. We have six main actresses and actors and one of them really has a 70s denim vest in his wardrobe and wears it a very lot of times through all eight seasons. But it's not one of the girls, it's Danny Masterson as Steven Hyde. He has a really pretty 1970s vintage blue jean vest, but I really had prefered to see it worn by one of the girls, not by an actor. 

The six main actors playing the young people in the show split into four boys and two girls. One of the girls is Laura Prepon playing Donna Pinciotti. Donna wears vests through all eight seasons, but not a denim one.

She also owns a half wardrobe full of suit vests, but no denim vest. I wish, she would have done some of her performances with a vintage blue jean vest. 

So the last hope is second actress Mila Kunis as Jackie Burkhart. Jackie wore nearly uncountable vintage 1970s outfits through the seasons, also lot of vest outfits among them and was not afraid of denim pieces. But it seems that the actress herself or the wardrobe manager of the show decided, that the classic denim vest is one of the signature pieces of Steven Hyde, so it is taboo for the rest of the cast. There are a handful performances of Jackie with outfits inspired by the denim on denim look including a denim vest. Most times she wore no denim vest but a denim dress or a denim jumpsuit.

Outfit #1 is a red turtleneck sweater and a denim jumpsuit with denim vest look. But only one piece, not two pieces.

Outfit #2 looks like a denim vest paired with a denim skirt and a blouse, but this are not two denim pieces, it's only one piece again: a denim dress with vest optic.

The two outfits before seem to be kind of popular, you can find many many pictures of them in the WWW. Then I found the next photo of another outfit, that was more rare.

Outfit #3: And this time Jackie Burkhart really wore a denim vest. 

Outfit #4: After it was hard to find her with a real denim vest outfit, it's nearly unbelievable, that Jackie, who normally doesn't wear an outfit a second time, wore the denim vest once again in a christmas special.

I know, there is another young woman in a supporting role in the show, the older sister of Eric, Laurie Forman. Both actresses, who played Laurie wore lots of denim, but never a vintage denim vest.

There is one more source in THAT 70'S SHOW: the background. I remember to have seen a couple of women with denim vests in the Cafe scenes. Maybe when I have the time, I gonna search for those. And I close with this background beauty in striped sweater, dark red jeans and a dark blue denim vest:
